Core Discipleship Training Cohorts

Core Discipleship Training Cohorts (CDTCs) are small groups of Christians who meet weekly and are committed to helping one another grow in their love of God, one another, and to learn how to make disciples who then learn to make disciples. CDTCs encourage healthy spiritual disciplines of listening and following God and are a simple, scalable, and reproducible tool for spiritual growth, church renewal, leadership development, and discipleship training.

  • Cost: There is no financial cost to participate in the Cohorts. However, we ask that participants count the cost in time and commitment to attendance and completing assignments.

3-Month Core Discipleship Group Online Basic Training

  • Core Discipleship Overview & Process (1 week): Just as Jesus walked with 12 chosen men for more than three years, Core Discipleship is a relational process and commitment to help believers become disciples of Jesus. It is characterized by personal investment, practical training, and spiritual empowerment, ultimately equipping others to continue His mission and spread the message of salvation to the ends of the earth.
  • Essential Beliefs of Christianity (1 week): This study is an introductory overview that will cover essentials including: 1) The Bible; 2) One God in Three Persons; 3) The deity of Jesus; 4) About Mankind; 5) Salvation by Grace; 6) The Holy Spirit; and 7) Eternal States.
  • Galatians (12 weeks): Lays a foundation that helps believers discover the truth about God’s unconditional love and grace, embrace the freedom Christ provides, discern between false gospel and true gospel, to live by the Spirit, and to learn that salvation and sanctification are found in faith in Jesus, not by works of the law.

6-Month Core Discipleship Group Online Intermediate Training

  • Prerequisite: Basic Training
  • Ephesians (15 weeks): Helps believers realize their identity in Christ Jesus, exhort believers to live in unity and harmony as members of the body of Christ, to grow in their understanding of God’s plan of redemption, and to walk in accordance with their identity as children of God. It emphasizes the exalted position of Christ as the head of the Church and the importance of living out one’s faith in love and unity. Understanding our position and identity in Jesus empowers us to live out our faith with confidence and purpose. Understanding and then applying the truths of chapters 1-3 makes possible the actions and lifestyle of chapters 4-6.
  • Philippians (7 weeks): Encourages believers to find their joy and contentment in Christ, to maintain unity and fellowship with one another, and to press on towards spiritual maturity and the goal of knowing Christ more deeply. Believers will learn how they can live daily in true joy as they center their lives on Christ and fully trust in Him and His sovereignty.
