A Simple Pattern for Making Disciples

When Jesus made disciples, He walked closely with a small group of people. He opened the Scriptures to them, prayed with them, showed them how to live, and then sent them to do the same with others.

Disciple making was not a program. It was life shared around the Word of God and obedience to Him.

Core Discipleship follows that same pattern.

Why Small Groups of Three or Four?

Jesus invested deeply in a few.

Smaller groups create space for honesty, accountability, prayer, and real spiritual growth. Each person is known, encouraged, and challenged to follow Christ.

In this environment, disciples learn not only to grow, but also to help others grow.

What begins with one group can soon multiply into many.

Paul described this pattern when he wrote: “The things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2

Basic Discipleship Training

Free Basic Training

Core Discipleship’s Online Basic Training is a free interactive course designed to help you learn the simple, biblical process of making disciples. In this training, you will explore the foundations of discipleship, study the essential beliefs of the Christian faith, and walk verse by verse through the book of Galatians to discover grace, freedom, and life in the Spirit. As you move through the course, you will see the New Testament pattern for disciple-making, learn how a small discipleship group functions, and understand how this process can be reproduced in everyday life. The goal is not simply to complete an online course, but to prepare and equip you to launch and lead your own discipleship group. Participants also receive the Core Discipleship Basic Training Workbook: Building a Strong Foundation in Christ, and those who successfully complete the course will receive an official Certificate of Completion.

Intermediate Discipleship Training

Free Intermediate Training
Core Discipleship’s Online Intermediate Training is for those who have completed Basic Training and are ready to go deeper in their walk with Christ and growth in disciple-making. You have begun to follow Jesus, obey His Word, and take steps in making disciples. Now it is time to strengthen your roots so your life and ministry can grow with greater strength, clarity, and endurance. During this training, we will walk through Ephesians and Philippians—truths not only to understand, but to live. Ephesians anchors you in your identity in Christ, unity in His body, and a life worthy of your calling. Philippians teaches joy, perseverance, humility, and pressing on toward maturity in Christ. This training builds on the foundation of Basic Training, shifting the focus from starting groups to strengthening disciples. Participants also receive the Core Discipleship Intermediate Training Workbook: Growing Deeper in Your Walk with Christ, and those who successfully complete the course will receive an official Certificate of Completion.

Advanced Discipleship Training

Free Advanced Training
Core Discipleship’s Online Advanced Training is for those who have completed Basic and Intermediate Training and are actively making disciples. You have not only learned the process—you are living it out and helping others follow Jesus. This next step is about going deeper and seeing the bigger picture of God’s purpose. During this 11-week training, we will survey the Old Testament as one unified story fulfilled in Jesus Christ, explore the years between the Testaments, and study the Beatitudes as the foundation of mature, Christ-centered living and leadership. This course is designed to strengthen biblical understanding, deepen spiritual character, and equip leaders to guide and multiply discipleship groups. Participants also receive the Core Discipleship Advanced Training Workbook: Leading with Purpose and Impact for Christ, and those who successfully complete the course will receive an official Certificate of Completion.

The answer Jesus gives is yes.

He did not choose the most educated or the most influential. He chose ordinary people who were willing to follow Him.

And He told them: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
