George Robertson, Secretary

Entrepreneur, investor, and business visionary, George Robertson has started and led more than 20 companies in the healthcare, restaurant, and retail fields, creating jobs and opportunities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area over 40 years. George is a lifelong resident of North Texas and contributes his time and resources to special activities, including community affairs and global philanthropic projects including Project 4031, a ministry providing terminally ill children, adults, and their families with financial assistance in the Fort Worth area. George married his beautiful Kathy in 1981. They have three children, Matthew, Joshua, and Rebecca (Matthew is with God). Three grandsons, Jack, Jude, and James, and one granddaughter Leighton keep George and Kathy young at heart.

Walter Carlton, Board Member

Raised in the Texas Panhandle in the 50s and 60s, Walt became a follower of Jesus at 13 and was discipled by his youth director. He was later licensed to preach the gospel. He attended Wayland Baptist University where he often teamed up with others doing youth led revivals throughout west Texas. He married Renda, a preacher’s daughter, who also hungered for God’s Word and is a true prayer warrior. Ordained as a deacon, he served several churches throughout west Texas, all the while raising four children: Marti, Jodi, Toni, and Casey. In the mid 80s, he worked in the natural gas industry and was transferred to Weatherford, Texas in 2000. There he joined in the formation where three churches became one church called New River Fellowship. Walt served as an elder and was integral in the launch of Core Discipleship. Today, Walt serves at a new church plant in Weatherford, Texas called Myriad Church. Walter’s life verse is 1 Peter 4:10 “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Adam Schierloh, Board Member

Exemplifying the manta, “I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could”, Adam has lived in North Texas since 1995 when he moved to Fort Worth, from Grand Rapids MI, to study business at Texas Christian University. He has worked in and around Healthcare since 2001 and enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new places. Actively involved in his community, he and his wife Missy attend Christ Chapel Bible Church and spend their time and resources helping organizations like Young Life and WhenWeLove, a non-profit in Fort Worth helping those experiencing homelessness. Adam and Missy married in 2001. They have three beautiful children, Matty, Bennett, and Jake as well as one (large) fur baby, Kona.

Clay Ingram, Board Member

Clay is a Texas native who graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in business. He has spent the majority of his career in the healthcare and medical equipment industry. Clay is married to Lindsey and they have three beautiful daughters, Eliah, Abigail, and Emilie. Clay and Lindsey are the pastors of Mercy Culture Church in Dallas, Texas. Clay’s life verse is Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” His desire is to walk wherever the Lord leads.

Jerry Williams, Board Member

Jerry earned his BBA degree in Accounting from Midwestern State University in 1978. In 1981, he met Ginger, whom he soon married. Together, they have four children: Bryan, Kym, Mistie, and Nikki, along with 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Both Jerry and Ginger have been active in the healthcare industry for many years. Despite the challenges, their love remains strong, a testament to the blessings, grace, and mercy they’ve received along their journey. Jerry prioritizes his faith, his wife Ginger, and their expanding and cherished family. They are devoted members of Oak Ridge Church of Christ and regularly volunteer at the Center of Hope in Weatherford, Texas.

Ryan Clift, Board Member

Ryan Clift was born and raised in Texarkana, Texas, and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with degrees in Finance and Accounting. He now lives in Abilene, Texas, with his wife Traci and their two daughters, Haylee and Hannah. With over 17 years of experience in the real estate industry, Ryan has worked as a mortgage loan officer and custom home builder. The family is actively involved in their church, Beltway Park Abilene, and has served on various boards, including the Chrysalis Community, Big Country BBB, and the Jim Ned Girls Softball Association.

Michelle Buchanan, Board Member

Michelle is a disciple-maker, ministry leader, and Certified Life Coach who is passionate about walking alongside women as they follow Jesus and make disciples. For more than two decades, she has invested in developing leaders, strengthening ministries, and helping individuals and families experience lasting spiritual transformation. From a young age, Michelle sensed a calling to teach and to serve in mission. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Deaf Education and has served in a variety of ministry contexts. Since 2013, her primary focus has been ministry to women through discipleship groups, retreats, Bible studies, and transformational events in the United States and internationally. Michelle leads InterConnected Ministries and serves as the Global Women’s Training Director with Core Discipleship, equipping women around the world to walk closely with Jesus and live on mission with Him. She also serves faithfully in her local church in Brock, Texas. Michelle is the mother of five adult children and a soon-to-be grandmother, and she brings the same heart for discipleship into her family life that she carries into ministry.

Doug Morrell, President and Founder

Doug is a disciple-maker, mentor, and ministry leader devoted to helping people follow Jesus and multiply disciples. Grounded in Scripture and shaped by prayer, he focuses on simple, relational, and reproducible discipleship that works in everyday life. He came to Christ at 13, graduated from Texas Tech in Mass Communications, and served for nearly four decades as a tentmaker in both ministry and the marketplace. His journey has included mentoring at-risk teens, serving the poor and imprisoned, and developing practical discipleship tools such as the Disciple’s Journal. He is the founder of Core Discipleship and the 3-Strand CORE Discipleship Process, a model tested across generations and studied at the doctoral level. Doug has served as a worship leader, pastor, and elder, and has worked with ministries and churches including Wycliffe, New River Fellowship, Center of Hope, FamilyLife Community Church, Oak Tree Fellowship, The Bridge, and Project 4031. His calling remains simple and clear: to make disciples who make disciples in the pattern of Jesus and the early church. Doug and his wife Suzie were married in 1984. They have five children (three now with the Lord) and six grandchildren.
